I am a first generation farmer, even though I have always had a deep connection to our land and animals and was raised to respect and care for both. I was raised on the back of a horse, riding through mountains and beaches alike with my mom, and spent days camping and hiking through valleys of oaks and manzanita with my dad. My two older brothers taught me how to fish, catch lizards and ride quads.

I always loved learning and exploring my environment was as natural as breathing to me. I had dreams of being a veterinarian, journalist or archaeologist when I grew up and came very close to two of those!

I ultimately studied business and marketing in college, but when I finally understood that I could never be happy in the corporate world, I found myself seeking a connection back to the land. I did work trades on hobby farms in Australia, managed farmers markets in San Diego and planned weddings on a farm in Turlock. Then I found my love for agricultural conservation and dove head first into the world of permaculture and regenerative agriculture. I saw how transformative and healing agriculture could be, instead of extractive and depleting. I found my place as an Agricultural Conservationist working alongside farmers at my local Resource Conservation District and that changed everything!
